Can you use the VSI and VSII on the same boards?
Yes, they can be used with either machine.
Are the 2 stroke Robin engines still available?
No, Robin 2 stroke engines are no longer. However VSI and VSII machines with the older Robin engines can be updated to the Honda 4 stroke engine. Some parts are still available for Robin 2 stroke generation 2 and 3 engines.
Are the F-2 and F-3 floats still available?
No , we no longer manufacture the F-2 and F-3 floats, they are obsolete items.
What would cause my Board to crack where it is mounted to the cast housing?
1. The machine has been operated at an rpm higher than what is required to strike/consolidate the concrete.
2. Too much concrete is allowed to accumulate in front of the float/screed when in use.
3. Not using grade men to keep excess concrete from accumulating in front of float/screed. Or, the grade
men are not keeping grade close enough in front of the screed/float when in use.
4. The longevity of the float/screed is determined by the method in which it is used and proper maintenance
and cleaning.
5. The VSI and VSII should never require the engine to be run over half throttle. Excessive rpm will damage
both float/screed and cast housing and its internal components.
6. All fasteners and float cast housing attachment points must be tight at all times.
7. Use good grade men at all times.
What would cause the rotating parts inside the cast housing to fall out and the drive cable be damaged?
Typically this is caused by excessive rpm for extended periods of time and not rotating and greasing the drive cable at the recommended 20 hour intervals.
What would cause my cast housing to break where it attached to the float/creed?
Running the machine at excessive rpm for extended period of time. Not using grade men, or using unqualified grade men. Running the machine with attachment points and fasteners loose. Any to these will cause extreme
stress to and premature failure of the cast housing.
